After 35 years of dedicated service, Pam O'Dea will be concluding her time as Principal at the end of 2024. Mr Jamie Fahey will be the new Principal, commencing Term 4, 2024.

In the College's 40-year history there have only been two principals - Graeme Irwin and Pam. Beginning in 1990 as a Year 5 Teacher, Pam's passion for teaching and bringing out the best in each student has had an immeasurable impact on the College in all areas of endeavour, and her commitment to excellence in music and performing arts has been undeniable. Throughout her tenure at St Philip's Christian College, Pam has held numerous roles, including Head of English (7-12), Director of Studies, Assistant Principal (Teaching and Learning), and Principal.

Pam will be incredibly missed by the College Community, and there will be opportunities throughout 2024 to honour, thank and farewell Pam. We will be organising a special alumni gathering before the end of the year, but if you have a message for Pam, you can send it via reply and I will make sure she receives it.

Jamie Fahey is an alumnus of SPCC Newcastle and brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. He started his career at St Philip’s at our Dynamic Learning College as a Youth Worker in 2003. In 2005, Jamie began teaching in our Middle School, and then became Co-Head of Senior School in 2010, and subsequently Head of Senior School in 2014. Jamie is currently the Deputy Principal of the College, a role he has served in since 2021.

We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to Pam and wish her all the best for this year and beyond. We also extend our warmest welcome to Jamie and look forward to working with him in his new role.
