One of the joys of being a College moving into its fifth decade, is seeing generations now attending school where their parents once studied.
At the end of last term, the Year Two students welcomed some special visitors as part of their unit on the importance and significance of places. To gain a deeper understanding of how St Philip’s has evolved over its history, six Year Two parents who are also College Alumni joined us for an insightful afternoon.
Students enjoyed hearing from a panel representing generations, including Graeme Irwin, Josh Irwin, Silas Irwin, Britt Darvas, and Zeke Darvas, who shared their reflections on the College – discussing what has changed and what they hope will always remain. Alumni led engaging activities to help students spot the many differences in how the College looks today, and everyone enjoyed looking at photos from the past four decades. Many students were amazed at how little the boys’ uniform has changed over the years!
A huge thank you to alumni Michael Tadros (Class of 1999), Chelsea Beach (née Rule - Class of 2003), Amy Neary (née Johnston - Class of 2005), Joshi Irwin (Class of 1999), Brittney Darvas (née West - Class of 2006), and Jaci MacPhail (née Finlay - Class of 2007) for taking part and making this afternoon so memorable!
